Thanks for your feedback! In general, the seasonings in our snack mix creations are somewhat subtle so as to allow the taste of the nuts and other ingredients to come through. This snack mix has a jalapeno/habanero smoked pecan which, frankly, is chock full of bold flavor, thanks to the pure pepper powders we source from Arizona. The smoking process (on a real smoker) does tone down the heat from the peppers a tad. If the nuts aren't smoked (but only roasted), the tannins in the pecans and the oils from the peppers merge to create an unpleasant, very acidic flavor. The seasoning we use in this snack mix is a BBQ rub spice mixture, so it does not deliver the fake, sweet flavor of, say, a store-bought BBQ potato chip.
We recently stayed at Someplacespecialrentals in Mount Dora. Upon our arrival we were greeted with welcoming gifts from Talia and Gabi. One of the snacks was the BBQ nutty snack mix. We are hooked. Loved it and ordered some to be shipped to our home in Ct. Arrived on time and we are sharing it with family!
