When Chris and I launched Captain Crazy’s Snack Shack, we made ourselves a promise.
We weren’t going to become just another online store with thousands of random products. We wanted to build something different—a carefully curated collection of exceptional foods from independent American makers who are passionate about what they create.

Every few weeks, we’ll introduce you to one of the incredible brands you’ll find at Captain Crazy’s Snack Shack, share a little of their story, and explain why we chose to bring them to our customers.

A Little Piece of Pittsburgh
This one feels especially personal to me.
I was born in Pittsburgh, and while life eventually took me to New Jersey, New York City, the Florida Keys, and now Mount Dora, Pittsburgh has always held a special place in my heart.
So when I discovered Steel City Salt, I immediately smiled.
Not just because of the name, but because the company represents something I’ve always admired—hardworking people creating exceptional products with pride, creativity, and just the right amount of personality.
It felt like the perfect fit for our Snack Shack.

Walk through a typical grocery store spice aisle and you’ll see plenty of familiar names.
Steel City Salt takes a different approach.
