Some businesses begin with a carefully written plan. Honey Truck Co. began with a cup of tea.
Founder Danielle Brooks loved drinking tea with honey and wondered how wonderful it would be to harvest honey from her own hive. So she did what curious entrepreneurs do: she started learning everything she could about bees and beekeeping.
After checking out every book on the subject she could find at the library, Danielle jumped in with both feet.
One hive became several. A personal interest became a full-fledged business. And a search for good local honey grew into a mission to share the remarkable world of bees with others.
Today, Honey Truck Co. is known throughout North Florida for its raw Florida honeys, creative infused varieties and dedication to bee education.

From One Hive to Master Beekeeper
Danielle didn’t simply learn how to maintain a hive. She became a Certified Master Beekeeper and a Certified Welsh Honey Judge, earning numerous awards for her honey along the way.
She now maintains hives throughout St. Augustine and works with other small-scale beekeepers across Florida. Whether the honey comes from her own apiary or one of those trusted partners, Danielle believes customers deserve to know exactly where it came from and how the bees were treated.
That transparency is central to everything Honey Truck does.
Its honey is sourced in Florida, never imported and never heat-treated. The company is equally committed to treating its bees ethically and helping people understand the important role honey bees and native pollinators play in our environment and food supply.
Meet Kennedy and Glennda
Of course, a company called Honey Truck needs a truck—or two.
Kennedy, the original Honey Truck, is a vintage truck Danielle found on Craigslist. There was just one small complication: Danielle didn’t know how to drive a manual transmission, much less a “three on the tree.”
She learned.
Kennedy was named for President John F. Kennedy and his support of America’s space program. Later, Danielle and her husband, Rich, discovered a red vintage Ford Econoline in Palatka that was simply too good to pass up.
That truck became Glennda, named for astronaut John Glenn.
Even their original St. Johns County license plates have meaning. Kennedy and Glennda are restored pieces of Florida history, given a second life selling honey at events and pop-ups around the nation’s oldest city.

Florida Honey—With a Twist
Honey Truck’s classic Raw Florida Wildflower Honey captures the flavor of the blossoms visited by Florida bees. But the company also creates infused honeys that take this natural sweetness in some wonderfully unexpected directions.
Datil Pepper Honey combines honey with the distinctive sweet heat of St. Augustine’s favorite pepper. Try it with cheese, grilled meats, roasted vegetables or anywhere you want a little warmth with your sweetness.
Bourbon Infused Wildflower Honey brings rich, oak-kissed flavor to snack boards, marinades, cocktails and desserts.
Vanilla Infused Honey is warm, floral and comforting—beautiful in tea, coffee, yogurt or drizzled over fruit and baked goods.
Lavender Infused Honey adds a delicate botanical note that makes even an ordinary cup of tea feel special.
